At the Da Bull Touch tournament held at the University of South Florida on November 16th, FFA tournament fencers were there once again for Epee and Saber.
In the C and Under Mixed Epee, Nickolay Mavrodiev was seeded 12th out of 29. He defeated the 21st seed, then beat the number 5 seed 15-11. He defeated the number 4 seed (who happened to be our own William Bowden) 15-10 and then lost to the number 1 seed in a respectable 15-11 bout. His third place finish earned him the Bronze Medal.
In the Senior Mixed Epee, Mavrodiev was seeded 9th out of 36. He defeated the number 24 seed and then the number 8 seed before losing to the #1 seed 15-12. His sixth place finish earned him a C Rating. Big day for Nickolay.
Others competing in the Epee events included Thomas DuPree, William Bowden and Robert Wagman. William Bowden finished 5th in the C and Under Epee.
Thomas DuPree and William Bowden participated in Saber events. In Senior Mixed Saber, Thomas DuPree finished 7th with William Bowden closely behind in 9th. In the D and Under Mixed Saber, Thomas DuPree finished 9th.
